Penetrating into Security
It's quite scary changing career.
On 15thJanuary 2018 I will transition from software engineering into information security consultancy (AKA ethical hacking). I’ve long been interested in this exciting field, and with my software experience it feels like a natural progression.
In order to get to this point and to validate this change of direction, I have achieved Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) and CREST Registered Penetration Tester (CRT Pen) certifications. These certifications, coupled with my passion and experience have secured me a job at a well respected infosec company.
It hasn’t been easy (especially gaining OSCP which is renowned for being hard to pass, with it’s motto oftry harder) but it has been fun and interesting.
Naturally I’m quite excited about the change and the new challenges it will bring.
I’m also grateful for the support and encouragement I’ve had along the way from the community.
